GIGATOP 4-pole Turbogenerator
To match the reliable and performing Arabelle steam turbine solution, the GIGATOP 4-pole hydrogen and water cooled generator is used. Such turbogenerators are world’s largest and most reliable hydrogen and water-cooled turbogenerators in operation today with 99% proven reliability. The technology applied covers an output range from 900 to 1800 MW. The proven use of hydrogen as the cooling fluid for very large generators rotors significantly reduces the ventilation and friction losses and provides highest efficiency of 99%.
This design is continuously developed for increased performance - today up to 2000 MVA - for low maintenance and increased lifetime, using the most suitable design elements, selected and adapted according to design quality processes.
